Argos Gas Pressure Regulator

Argos Gas Pressure Regulator

The Argos pilot operated Gas Pressure Regulator is an additional one in a series of Regulators that have been developed by the Engineering group of Gascat. The Argos is a Pressure Reducing Regulator, which can be used for all types of natural gas and market gas applications.

This regulator was developed with the intent to facilitate Ase of maintenance and parts replaceMent while in service. Due to its top entry design, it is not vital to take the regulator out of the pipeline for maintenance. The Argos is known for its lightness, easy construction, first-rate doing of pressure control (1%), and high flow capacity.

The Argos Regulator is primarily used in natural gas for transmission and/or distribution systems.

This regulator can also be used in any other market processes. Its "top entry" building allows easy maintenance and/or cleaning doing without removing the regulator from the pipeline.
As an option, the tool is also ready with a built-in shut-off valve (just for 2" size), incorporated in the same body.

For overpressure protection agree Argos + Ips-H/Ph.
For simultaneous overpressure and under pressure protection agree Argos + Hi-Lo Pilot.
The Argos pilot operated pressure regulator superior features are:

High Accuracy
High range ability
•Large flows
•Low noise level
•Bubble tight lock up
•Easy, Fast and uncostly maintenance
•Low cost of acquisition.

Operating Principle:

At no flow, when the outlet pressure is greater than the set point of the pilot, the pilot is complete and full inlet pressure loads the main valve spring case straight through the pilot loading connection. In this condition, the main diaphragm is complete tightly against the valve cage. Since the distinction in the middle of the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure is determined and it is added by the spring force the diaphragm will close tightly against the cage.

When the ask for flow increases the outlet pressure instantaneously drops opening the pilot allowing the loaded gas escapes Faster than the entrance of the gas and this rate is controlled by the restriction device.

When the ask for flow decreases, the downstream pressure increases, causing the pilot to close. Inlet pressure continues to pass straight through the restriction until the control pressure equals the inlet pressure. The spring force, plus the pressure differential over the outlet half of the diaphragm closes the main valve AdjustMent of the variable restricting orifice affects the response rate, stability and sensitivity of the regulator.

Smaller restriction openings consequent in higher sensitivity and slower conclusion speeds. Larger openings yield less sensitivity, greater stability and faster conclusion speed. The operating principle behind the Argos produces a pressure regulator with amazing speed of response to flowing ask variations and extremely definite pressure adjustments, while maintaining extremely low "lock-up".

A hard metallic flow conditioner was developed by Gascat together with investigate Institutions in order to sell out the kinetic vigor of particles regularly contained in dirty gas. This velocity discount and redirection of the particles are adequate to cause a sensitive discount of particles impact on the cage seal and on the diaphragm avoiding the wearing on the metallic parts and on diaphragms erosion, warranting on this way a longer beneficial life to these components in comparison
to other existing regulators that use same method.
